This decorative serving platter is crafted from high-quality Spanish white clay by skilled artisans. Each piece undergoes a multi-stage process: hand-forming, drying, first firing, illustration, coloring, glazing, and final firing. The result is not just a practical and durable piece, but also a visually captivating work of art.
The platter features patterns from the Jraberd (Gardman) carpet patterns characteristic of the historic Gardman province. These ancient ornamental designs are distinguished by their complex geometric patterns and deep symbolism, reflecting the rich cultural heritage of the region.
The original embroidered carpet, dating back to the 17th century, is preserved in the treasury of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin.
